We have five healthy skin types; normal, oily, dry, combination, and sensitive skin.

Normal skin: Normal skin is neither too dry nor too oily, barely has pores and doesn’t have serious sensitivity. This skin looks so radiant and perfect. To maintain this skin use recommended skin products and don’t forget to always wear sunscreen to avoid sunburn.

Oily skin: oily skin has enlarged pores and blemishes such as pimples, blackheads, whiteheads e.t.c. The skin is maybe dull or even shiny. Oily skin can be aggravated due to heat, stress, constant picking of the face and hormonal imbalance, and puberty. If you have oily skin you should;

* Wash your face twice daily.

* Avoid scrubbing your face.

*Use a mild cleanser.

* Avoid popping your pimples.

* Avoid products that’ll clog your

pores.

*Do not use body sponge or dirty

towel on your face.

* Use good sunscreen.

Dry skin: This is a rough and dull skin with the possibility of looking saggy. They can be itchy and also leave visible lines on the face. Dry skin can be triggered by medications, weather, aging, hormonal imbalance, a genetic disorder, long baths, and ingredients in cosmetic/beauty products. For better skin you should follow these tips:

*Use tender and mild soaps.

*wash your face and bathe once daily.

* Avoid scrubbing your skin while

bathing.

* Avoid staying in places with hot

temperature.

* Use a good or recommended

moisturizer after bathing.

* Use sunscreen

The combination skin: this skin type is usually oily on the forehead, nose, and chin while the other areas of the face are dry. The combination skin consists of dry or normal and oily skin. Combination skin is caused by sebum production(a light yellow substance that is oily and keeps the face moisturized). Combination skin has bigger pores, looks bright and has blackheads. To help with this skin type you should:

*Use mild face cleanser every morning

and evening

* Exfoliate your skin using a gentle

scrub weekly

*Use sunscreen and a recommended

night cream.

Sensitive skin: This type of skin is more susceptible to skin reactions such as frequent itching of the skin, swelling, wrinkling, and redness. It can be caused by acne, allergy, dry skin, dermatitis e.t.c. Some conditions like skin cancer, kidney disease, shingles, liver disease, HIV, and so on, may lead to sensitive skin. Sensitive skin can be minimized in the following ways:

* Avoid bathing with hot water.

* Take shorter showers.

*Use hypoallergenic products such as

soap and deodorant.

*Use steroid cream to reduce

inflammation

* Use analgesic creams to reduce

itchiness

* Use protective sunscreen.

* See a dermatologist.
